Forgive and pray for others, you will receive your healing!

 James 5:16

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

Jesus taught us to pray in Matthew 6 and in the prayer, we ask the Lord to forgive us for our sins as we forgive others. This ties-in with the verse for today that as people, we need to confess our sins to each other and pray for one another. If someone has confessed their sins, it doesn't give you the right to gossip about them, hate them but it is an opportunity to pray for them. This may be hard to do, but it's what God expects of us. He has already told us that vengeance belongs to Him (Romans 12:19), that's why we must not hold grudges, but to forgive and pray for them. Matthew 5:44 says: "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you." By doing so, you will heal yourself, that's what this verse above says. You will be healed, when you don't hold grudges but pray and love them.

Furthermore, we are taught that an earnest prayer of a righteous person, has great power and can produce wonderful results! Believe that! What if you pray for someone who persecutes you and they end up giving their life to Jesus, and that changes their life forever? Great rewards will await you in heaven, you would've saved a soul! This shows that we may not understand God's instructions, as they normally seem in reverse. But when you trust Him to see it through, He will reveal to you eventually and it will all make sense. Plus, He will reward your good deeds. Take the narrow road and be the "bigger person".
