Change your thoughts...

 Romans 8:6

So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

This is one of the harsh truths, where God is showing us the cause of the end results. That when we let our flesh, our sinful nature to control our minds, we will be led astray which will end up in death (the second death); but when we allow the Spirit of God to control our minds, we will have life in eternity and peace. This is critical as our actions follows what our minds say, if they are not aligned with the word of the Lord, we will be walking in darkness. Thus, we need to train our minds to think things that are proper and pleasing to the Lord. We are guided on this by the book of Philippians 4:8 that says: "And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." This is what should rule our minds. One may ask how to change their thoughts, which is a valid question. What I've learned is that to change a thought, you need to replace the negative thought with a positive one. If negativity piles in your head, stop yourself and look for something positive to dwell on. This takes practice and being aware on when you start thinking negative things.

Most of all, allow the Holy Spirit in your heart and let Him know that you welcome Him take control of your mind. He will help you; He is our Helper afterall. This is sure to bring victory in your life, as you move forward and challenge yourself to do better.

By knowing Christ, we get a chance of living a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

 2 Peter 1:3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. By coming to know Christ, learning about Him in the word, we now have the ability to live a Godly life. This means by God's divine power, He has equipped us with the relevant information and teachings, on how we are to live our lives. The bible tells us that Jesus was sent to be our role model, our example of the things the Lord expects to see in us and to see in our daily walk here on earth. These things allow us to live a life that is acceptable in His eyes. Let us tell of the wonderful things He has done!

 Psalm 9:1 I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. And that is called a testimony, telling of the wonderful  things that the Lord has done! With God on our side, we have  an advantage, where we are protected from certain things, where God ochestrates things for us so that they work in our favour (Romans 8:28). He heals us, He provides for us, He opens and closes doors and so much more. Which is why the only two things that we can do to show gratitude for all that He does for us, is first to recognize His role in the whole thing . That in our own strength, we wouldn't have been able to achieve those thigs, gotten favoured or have that opportunity come through.
