When feeling broken and crushed, remember God is with you!

 Psalm 34:18

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

When going through a tough time, it may feel as though you are alone, and nobody understands, and nobody cares. But there is someone who truly cares and who is always there, that is our Heavenly Father. He is so close to us that He sees and feels what we go through. It doesn't mean that because He allowed you to go through a rough situation then it means He doesn't care or that He is not there. The verse today shows us a picture that is actually the opposite, that He is close to the brokenhearted. Remember, He already said He will never leave nor forsake us, this even in the difficult times, He is there. Just reach out to Him and receive your comfort. The bible tells us that the Holy Spirit is our Comforter, He is there to help.

When you look at bible stories, we see that indeed God does allow good people to go through a tough time, whilst He is there with them. Some of the examples includes the three teenagers that were thrown into the fiery furnace, Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego, in the book of Daniel. They were never consumed by the fire as God was with them. Also, Daniel, who was thrown into the lion's den, in the book of Daniel. Also, he was not harmed by the lions because God was with him. How about Joseph, who was thrown into a pit, sold into slavery and went to jail, he survived this! Infact, in every stage of his life, the bible tells us that he was successful, that his superiors put him in charge! He was afterall made second in command, after his release. God was with him as well.

All these stories show us that God may allow tough times in our lives to strengthen us, to bring us closer to Him and to equip us. In those difficulties, let us remember that He is with us, helping us and will rescue us.
