The Lord will guide you along the Best Pathway!!

Image
Psalm 32:8 The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you . This is one of the best and comforting verses, that we can hold on to, as we cross over to 2023. The Lord says He will personally guide you along the best pathway for your life!! The moment you surrender your life to Jesus, you get to have a personal guide for your life, One who has your best interest at heart, and who promises to guide you on the best pathway for your life. This gives comfort that no matter what you face, no matter a decision you have to make, you have God by your side who will ensure you take the best route. It might not be the preferred route, according  to the worldly standards, but by heaven's standards, that will be the best one for you. How great is that! Furthermore, God promises to advise you and watch over you. This means He will protect and keep you, wherever  you are. Remember Psalm 23:3-4 says: " He guides me   ...

The Lord determines the final outcome

Image
Proverbs 16:33 We may throw the dice, but the LORD determines how they fall. The Lord is in control of everything, the earth and heaven. Afterall, He is the creator thereof. We may make our plans, but the Lord establishes our footsteps. This bible verse makes an example that similar to a dice, which we may throw, the Lord is the One that determines how it lands, which side will be up and which will be down. In a similar manner, we may prepare for whatever situation, but as for the finality thereof, it depends on the Lord. Proverbs 16:1 says: " We can make our own plans, but the LORD gives the right answer." The final answer comes from the Lord.  We can view this in a bad light, but it is also a positive thing. Say you want to take a particular job offer, it may seem perfect from the outside and you may not be aware of the negative aspects thereof until you have started working on this job. In this case, when we allow God to be in total control of our lives, He is able to sh...

His will be done...

Image
Matthew 6:10 "...Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." This passage coming from the prayer that Jesus was teaching His disciples. In this prayer, we say His will be done on earth as it is done in heaven. God's will is perfect but can be painful and confusing. When He activates His plan, it may not make sense to us, it may seem the opposite of what we would think should be, but the moment we remember His power and ability to see into the future, His ways of orchestrating  things in the best possible way, it is when we surrender to Him and just declare His will be done. As we approach the new year, we need to invite God into our plans, that He may give us wisdom and guide  us as we prepare. That we keep room for His plans to manifest through our lives that may seem a bit of a surprise.  May we show gratitude for all He has done all the years; leading and guiding us, protecting and providing, healing and strengthening , prospering and adva...

The Spirit of the Lord brings freedom!

Image
2 Corinthians 3:17 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. The Spirit of the Lord lives in us (as Jesus promised just before He ascended) and this bible verse tells us that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom! God desires for us to be free, free from bondages, curses, oppression and all sorts of chains, that have us bound and make us unable to live the life He designed for us to live. This type of life is described in John 10:10 where we are told that Jesus came to give us life, and life more abundantly. Meaning, there should be abundance in every area of our lives. When we speak of joy, we speak of joy in abundance;  love, love in abundance; peace, peace in abundance;  even in finances, abundance  of finances. Remember the covenant that God had with Father Abraham, which we (as his descendants) have access to, that he will be blessed to be a blessing to others. Which  is why God desires to bless us so...

You are the temple of God...

Image
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Do you not know that you are the temple of God , and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?  If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person; for the temple of God, which you are , is holy . We may take ourselves for granted sometimes but it is verses like this that reminds us that we are way more than we think. We don't just live or just live for ourselves, but the Most High lives in us, greatness lives in us! This puts it into perspective into how we view ourselves and how we treat and allow others to treat us. This verse further gives a firm warning that whoever destroys the temple of the Lord, which is us, our bodies, our being, will be destroyed by God Himself! Wow, if we could only pay attention to what God says...God keeps watch over His children, His sheep as a great shepherd and He sees how we are handled. Psalm 105:15 says:   “Do  not touch my anointed  ones; do  my  prophets no harm.” God as our vindicator...

Take all your worries and cares to God!

Image
1 Peter 5:7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you . God says we must bring all our troubles to Him, so that He may relieve us from all the stress and anxieties. This as a result of His compassion for us, He cares about us! The thing is that God already knows that in our walk of life, we will come across all sorts of trials and tribulations, minor to major. With this, His desire is that we would not carry these burdens on our shoulders, but that we would call on Him to help us, as He cares for us. There are a number of bible verses that emphasizes that we must not worry nor be anxious, but remain with a thankful  heart. Even in tough situations, God wants us to release the burden to Him and look for something to be grateful for. He expects us to have a heart filled with gratitude, for He is in control. It may be a dark hour, but the truth is that He is still in control. I now understand why I was sensitized about the story of Daniel, who was throw...

The wise will shine bright like starts!!

Image
Daniel 12:3 Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever. How we live our lives matter. God takes account of everything, how we treat others, how we relate and respect Him, all these are influenced by the decisions we make. Do we follow Christ or do we follow the world. Following Christ is a wise decision, as it leads to life, eternal life. Therefore, God says those who are wise and do the right thing, they will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead others  to the kingdom of light, they will shine like stars forever! Like in the book of Deuteronomy, we are given a choice. Do we choose life or death. The choice that leads to the kingdom of light, yields blessings and reward. Like the bible has told us, that we are called to be the salt and light of the world (Matthew 5:13-16). Thus, your original design, as God created you, you were made to be like a star, bringing light to those around ...

Rejoice always...

Image
Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! This verse doesn't  say rejoice when things go right or they go your way; but it says rejoice always! Meaning, regardless of the circumstances we go through, we must rejoice! One may ask how is that possible, and why should we rejoice when things are not going the way we planned? That's when we need to remember that we are not in control, but God is. And God doesn't do things to fit our program or plans or our emotions or preferences, but He executes His plans in our lives as He sees fit; whether that will make us sad, angry, disappointed etc. , what remains is that He will allow His will to be done. I was reminded of this principle today, as I'm transitioning at work, where things are going in a different direction than I expected. But God reminded me that He may end some things so that there may be a new beginning. That we should not focus on the past, on what was, but look to the future, where...

Those who sow in tears, will reap a harvest with joy...

Image
Psalm 126:5 Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. God is so awesome, He is a rewarder, a vindicator and He is fair. This verse tells us that those that sow in tears, will reap a harvest and they will shout with joy. Meaning, those that put in efforts into something, that might have been hard, with a lot of struggle, rejection and pain, God saw all of that He will reward them. He takes the tears that were streaming out during that time, as a down-payment for the harvest that is coming. Sometimes when we go through the hard times, we may feel tempted to give up, but He wants us to persevere  as He will reward in the end. This might take a lot of sacrifice, swallowing your pride, keeping your head down, receive  the beating, turning the other cheek etc. but best believe that God saw all of that! I've just heard a message that sometimes whilst you were going through that rough patch, God was also busy creating an audience for Himself, which will witness H...

His word will not return void...

Image
Isaiah 55:11 It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. This is very important. God has some amazing promises for us, which are hidden in the bible. However, a lot of people miss out as they do not encounter them and others  don't receive them. In the book of Hosea 4:6, God says His people perish as a result of lack of knowledge. This is very sad and shouldn't be. Our generation is truly blessed, that we are self-sufficient, we had an opportunity to go to school to learn how to read and write (something we may take for granted which  for some of us, our parents never got such an opportunity). It is with this advantage that we should seek Him, seek His word and hear what He has to say to us. Perishing because of lack of knowledge because we are lazy to read or too busy to read is futile to our well being and our future. It's like having an advantage , an inheritan...

A guarantee of a crown of life, when you persevere...

Image
James 1:12   Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial  because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life  that the Lord has promised to those who love Him. The children of God are not exempted from trials and tribulations. In fact, they are the primary target for the devil, to unseat them and take them to the world of darkness again. However, the Lord tells us that those that undergo trials and perseveres, are blessed and will receive the crown of life. 1 Peter 5:10 further encourages them by indicating that after they suffer a little while, God will restore them and make them firm, steadfast and strong. That because they have shared in Jesus' suffering, they will also share in His glory. This is to encourage us that when facing trials, we must not despair and think that the Lord has forsaken us, He promised never to leave nor forsake us, ever. The trials are part of the refining process, similar to when gold is prep...

God lives in you...

Image
1 John 4:15   If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God,  God lives in them and they in God.  By faith, the moment you acknowledge and received Jesus as your Lord Saviour, you were born again . This comes with the benefit  that now God lives in you, as you live in Him. The Holy Spirit rests and dwells upon you, as Jesus told us. In 1 John 4:4 says "... because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world." This means, greatness lives in you, then how can you not be great at everything you do? Philippians  4:13 says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. This is because we are empowered  and powered-up by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we must never underestimate the power we have to achieve that which we set out hearts to do, which in turn is God who puts those desires in us. With this knowledge, own the fact that you have a Helper, who is ready to come at your aid and bring victory. Acknowledge...

Keep asking, keep seeking and keep knocking...

Image
Matthew 7:7 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. Perseverance and and patience are key, in the kingdom of God. The bible tells us that we must not give-up on what we are asking for; we must keep asking and we shall receive. Keep knocking, and the door shall be opened. That we must keep seeking and we shall find. The Lord may not answer at your timing, either because He is preparing what you need, or preparing you for what you have asked for. Regardless, our posture towards God is important. If we start losing faith and doubting if God will answer or not, may be destructive  on what we have been believing  God for. The same applies with what we seek and the door we keep knocking at, they may seem shut, but that doesn't mean that is the only door to knock at or that the door may not ever open for you further  down the line. So long as what we ask is aligned wit...

Be transformed by the Lord!

Image
Romans 12:2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. We all want to please God, by knowing His will about us and being obedient in that. The bible tells us it is possible, by not allowing the world to tell us who we are and forcing us to it's customs and rules, but by allowing God to transform us into beings that He created us to be. This is possible if we bring ourselves closer to Him, learn from Him and be directed by Him. This we can achieve by soaking ourselves in His word, which teaches us everything God wants us to know and be. The most important  aspect of this though, is to hear the word and do what the word says (as urged in the book of James). We must be doers of the word, that shows obedience to the Most High. It is however not easy though, when you live in the world that you have been accustome...

Seek His kingdom first!

Image
Matthew 6:33 But seek first His kingdom  and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. This verse serve as a guide on how to prioritize in life. On our own, we tend to do things the wrong-way round, where we go after things that satisfies us, things that we need and want. It's just that with that approach, we then focus on ourselves and no longer on what God wants, or we perhaps pay less attention to it, as we go about looking for those things we want. However, I'm sure we might have noticed that with the kingdom of God, things work the other way round. God says, seek His kingdom and His righteousness, and then He will give you all those things that you need. In my own life, I battled for a long time, trying to figure out what this verse means for me, on what exactly I was supposed to do, or what my purpose was, so that I can prioritize it. However, I'm discovering  that what God refers to, is something from within. Everything that God wants t...

Freely justified by His grace...

Image
Romans 3:24 “ For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.   ” We all have sinned and did not deserve His mercy and grace. But God had compassion towards us and wanted to reconcile with us, we were then redeemed through Christ. This is a gift to us as we didn't work for it, plead for it, beg for it or even fight for it, but we were all forgiven. Which is why God expects us to acknowledge this gift and share it even further, so that more people can also partake of this wonderful gift. This gives us the boldness in knowing that we are truly loved and are no longer condemned, which is also important that we do not allow the world to condemn us, as we have been set free, freely.  This means our mindset needs to change as well, so that we see ourselves as God sees us. God sees us righteous, worthy and full of purpose. Our lives must never be wasted, as we were blo...

We live with great expectation!

Image
1 Peter 1:3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by His great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation. By His great mercy we are born again, we are the new creation, forgiven, redeemed and set free. By His mercy our transgressions were forgiven by the blood of Jesus, we are now His righteousness through  Christ. This gives us this great expectation of wonderful tings to happen (Jeremiah 29:11), because it is our inheritance. We are told that as children of God, we are joint-heir with Christ, meaning, the inheritance that Jesus has, it also belongs to us. This is found in the book of Romans 8:17 that says:  " Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory." This brings comfort that if we are sharing the suffering with Christ now, behold we will soon share i...
