Reminder- God is in control and He rules over everything!

Image
Psalm 103:19 The LORD has made the heavens His throne; from there He rules over everything. What a powerful reminder! The Lord is mighty, He is the Creator of heaven and  earth (Genes is 1:1) and He rules over everything! This is the reality, even though a lot of people tend to forget this and to some degree, ignore it, as it seems far-fetched. God as the Creator of the universe, is in charge of everything. He sees everything and He controls everything. In fact, the bible in the book of Job, shows us that even with our lives, God controls what we encounter and what not. In this case, the devil wanted to prove to God that Job was worshipping Him only because God had blessed him. But God indicated that it was not the case, that Job was His faithful servant. This was when the devil asked from God to take everything away from Job, where he will now turn on Him as a result of that. Then God gave the devil permission and the terms and conditions attached to that. Hence, this shows that even

Do good to everyone when you have an opportunity to do so...

Image
Galatians 6:10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. An expectation in the kingdom of God, is to do good to everyone whenever  we have an opportunity, especially to those in the family of faith (referring to planting seeds in good soil). We may take this for granted, but to the recipient , this act of kindness goes a long way, as it becomes a blessing and an answered prayer to them. This, I'm speaking from experience, I'm glad and am humbled that the Lord placed angels along my path, to close the gap for me and my family, when we were in need. In fact, around those days, neighbours played a critical part to sustain us, where  it was almost a norm for neighbours to share. This was God's intervention in my life, to see me and my family through. Now we live to testify of His goodness that we witnessed through random acts of kindness by people whom God placed in their hearts to do good unto us. Th

God remains the strength of my life...

Psalm 73:26 My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever. Amen and amen! Things may happen to us, health may fail, our spirit grow weak due to the number of attacks, but we have something to hold on to, that is God. He is our strength, even when we may feel weak, He is our hope and He is our Father forever and nothing  can change that. Romans 8:38 says: " And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love." This gives us assurity that no matter what we may go through, no matter what we may face (even death), nothing can ever separate us from the love of God. I am convinced and I hope you are too. May this serve as a reminder on whatever you may be going through, know that the Lord is with you and nothing can be against you b

Best believe that when you give to the poor, God will repay you!

Image
Proverbs 19:17 If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD— and He will repay you! Rest assured;  God sees everything. The little that you do for others, where you are not expecting to be repaid, God takes note,  and this verse tells us that He will repay you for your good deeds! The kingdom of God is the one that is based on grace, kindness, love as opposed to the worldly  kingdoms. In the kingdom of God, what pleases the Lord, is being considerate of others, being generous and selfless. We learn this as that's exactly how Jesus was whilst he was still here on earth,  and we know that He was revealing who God is. These are the traits of our Heavenly Father who loves beyond measure. Therefore, never feel grumpy when the Holy Spirit leads you give to someone who is in need, do it with a cheerful heart, recognizing and appreciating that the Lord is using you at that moment  to be a blessing to His child. Obey and do what the Lord says. If you are hesitant, think about if the s

Christmas Blessings For You!

Image
Merry Christmas to You and Yor Family!!! My Christmas wish for you is found in the book of Numbers 6:24-26 : The LORD bless you and keep you;  the LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;  the LORD lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

Our Saviour was born!

Image
Isaiah 9:6 For a child is born to us, a Son is given to us. The government will rest on His shoulders. And He will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. What a blessing that we get to enjoy. When Jesus was born, prophecy was fulfilled, the end of an oppressive  life ended. The promise of the Lord had eventually manifested, through Jesus who was born unto us, as our Saviour. Through Him, our lives changed, our sins were forgiven, our relationship with our Father was mended, our Saviour who guaranteed life in eternity  was born, our Prince of Peace was indeed born! Jesus came to disrupt the life we knew, which was based on law, but He came to introduce the kingdom of light, love and forgiveness. Prior to this, law kept human bound. It stands truth that God is three in one- the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. He is our everlasting Father, through the Holy Spirit, He is our Wonderful Counselour, as the Son, He is the Prince of Peace, who man

Let us rejoice, for God is with us!

Isaiah 7:14 All right then, the Lord Himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a Son and will call Him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’). This time of the year is about remembering the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ. When we follow His conception and birth, we realize that indeed He is a miracle to humankind . Firstly, for a young virgin to have fallen pregnant through the Holy Spirit, that on its own is a miracle. God was giving us signs that He was not just ordinary but above and beyond. Now that we know what we know, about His life, His journey and what He accomplished in the life that He was with us here on earth, we have no choice but to be in awe and praise the Lord for being such a great Orchestrator . He is faithful, loving and an amazing Father to us! Let us use this time of the year to recall exactly what God has done for us, embrace the gift that the Lord has given us and let us worship Him! We are saved, we are al

Serve the Lord with a cheerful heart!

Image
Psalm 100:2 Worship the LORD with gladness. Come before Him, singing with joy. Another version of this verse says serve the Lord with gladness. Serving God is another response of gratitude, towards who He is and what He has done  for us. In this case, we serve not because we are compelled to do so, trying to win "brownie points" or trying to  impress people, but we do this out of a heart that is full of gratitude, and that  is what God wants, to do it cheerfully, with gladness. Serving can take different forms, recognizing what Colossians 3:23 says that everything that  we do, let us do it as unto the Lord, not for human masters. So,  this could be you at your workplace, recognize  the role you play, you are part  of a bigger picture of God's plan. So, the portion you do, don't do it with a grudge against your manager, or because you despise what you do, change your mindset and your attitude, see it as something that you are doing for the Lord. In the book of Genesis

Rejoice and worship the Lord!

Image
1 Chronicles 16:10 Exult in His holy name; rejoice, you who worship the LORD. Amen, amen! He is our God Almighty and we should worship Him. When we consider all that He has done, from the beginning of time, His marvelous creation and all He is, it leaves us in awe! Jesus came to show us a glimpse of who God is and we  learnt that God is love (1 John 4:16), He is merciful, forgiving, gracious, kind, compassionate, patient, just to name a few. He displayed His unconditional love for us when He sent His one and only Beloved  Son to die for us, so that we may have life. We should be grateful to be living at this time, post Jesus' resurrection, because now our relationship with our Father has been mended and we can access God's forgiveness. When we consider how it was long time ago, for example during the time of Noah, where God had to restart everything (because of sin), and also about what happened at Sodom and Gomora, you realize that we are living in better times , where we are

Continue praising the Lord no matter the circumstance...

Image
Psalm 47:1 Come, everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise! Praise and worship is so important, as it connects us with God, it shows Him that we acknowledge Him, His presence and what He has done and what He is doing in our lives. It sends a message to Him that it doesn't matter what we may be going through, we already know that He is with us and for us (Romans 8:31) and that is enough. It also sends a strong message to the evil principalities that we are the children of the Most High, that's where our hope is and that we will never be shaken. I understand that at times you may not be in the "mood" to praise and worship, but that is when you need to force to do it, as there could be evil forces trying to stop you. Today for example, I was not feeling as good, but I felt so encouraged and strengthened after spending some time in the presence of the Lord, reading the word, listening to the word and worshipping. I felt the pain disappearing. I knew the

Your heart will be filled with joy, as you trust the Lord more.

Image
Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and shield. I trust Him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. This verse stands truth in my life, as indeed the Lord has been my strength when I'm weak, my shield when I'm faced with many attacks. He comes to my rescue. You get to see the Lord at work in your life, when faced with difficulties. Which is God allowing  some of these challenges, because when everything is going well, as humans (also learning  from the Israelites), it is easy to nearly fool ourselves that we are in control and are doing  things for ourselves, when actually it is God behind the scenes  orchestrating  everything. This is why when you are faced with difficulty, you kneel down and cry out to the Lord, and when you start seeing change and victory, you can't take credit for yourself, but are compelled to give God all the praise and honour. It is the same with sickness, you wouldn't be 100% convinc

Whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of Christ!

Image
Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. As followers of Christ, we are His representatives, which is why we are urged to remember on what we do, we do it as His representatives, giving thanks to God through Jesus. Jesus became our middleperson , to bridge the gap that was created by sin, but we thank the Lord for mending things for us. In this case, let us thank and praise Him for all He has done for us. We are because of Jesus. I was reminded today that we are righteous, not because of our own doing, but because of Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21). Which is why, we must not keep ourselves in bondage of our sins, Jesus cleared the slate for us, hence, when God looks at us, He sees us as righteous as Jesus is. Through His sacrifice and what He went through at the cross  for, has made us righteous. For us, is to keep ourselves in a condition  that is acceptable to God. Following His commands and cont

Jesus urges us to obey His commands...

Image
John 14:21 “Whoever has My commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves Me. He who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I too will love him and show Myself to him.” Quite a loaded verse. What Jesus is saying is that the one who loves Him, is the one that obeys His commands. This person who love Him, will be loved by our Father and that Jesus will show Himself to such a person. Now, we all want to be loved by Jesus, because He is the way, truth and life (John 14:6), and also to be loved by God our Father. To access such affection, we are urged to know and follow His commands. These commands also  refers to the 10 commandments  that were written by Moses, which were subsequently  summed up by Jesus to just two commands, to love the Lord with all your heart, mind  and soul, and to love your neighbour as you love yourself (Matthew 22:36-40).  Therefore, for us to have the power to follow these commands, we need to be strengthened, we need help to fulfill these as we can never do t

Let us worship the Lord, He deserves it!

Image
Psalm 95:6 Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. If we only knew how much God protects, provide, heal, bless and keep us, we wouldn't hesitate  to bow down and worship Him. Lack of knowledge  (Hosea 4:6) makes us not to see who is behind us having woken up this morning. God has our lives in His hands, that's how much He cares and wants to be involved in our lives. Obviously if we don't receive Him and welcome Him in our day-to-day, He won't force Himself and we may miss some of the benefits of having a close relationship with Him. Having Him in that close relationship, allows us to totally depend on Him as our Maker, who cares and love  us. We know He already told us He won't  leave us nor forsake us, also that He indicated that He would  provide for us as His children (Matthew 6:26). When this information sinks in, we have no choice but to honour Him, make noise about Him and boast about His love for us. Take time to seek Him (

God is living you and you live in Him!

Image
1 John 4:15 All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. A wonderful statement indeed. What more could we ask for, than to have our Almighty living in us and us in Him; a very close relationship indeed. The only condition is: this is applicable to those that declares Jesus as the Son of God! I believe and I hope you do too. It is during this wonderful time of the year that we are reminded of the greatest gift of all that we were presented with, Jesus the Son of God! We are reminded of His birth and how He came to save us from sin and to reconcile us with our Father! It is awesome indeed! May you take time, during these holidays to meditate on this truth, let it soak into your spirit and allow the Lord to reveal Himself to you, as you remember of this miraculous act that humankind has ever seen. May it bring you closer to our Father, as was originally intended, so that you get to see God as your Father, because He is. This time of the year

God says not to worry about your needs

Image
Matthew 6:25 “ Therefore,  I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? The Lord urges us not to be worried, too consumed about what to wear or to eat or drink, as our lives  are far more important than those things. The Lord is not saying this because we don't have to eat, because certainly we need to, however, He is giving caution not to focus on  these things, because He will provide for us. He even makes us an example, a verse after this one in Matthew 6:26 that even the birds of the sky are well taken care of, even though  they don't sow seeds and harvest. He says how much more will He care for us? Do what Philippians  4:6-7 says that you must take all your worries to the Lord, by prayer and place your petitions  with Him, with a grateful heart. With an emphasis not to worry. Therefore, with all the expenses and costs you have, especially  around th

Make room for our Father!

Image
Isaiah 40:3 Listen! It’s the voice of someone shouting, “Clear the way through the wilderness for the LORD! Make a straight highway through the wasteland for our God! We need to make room for God in our lives. We don't need to wait until we have everything we need, before we can create space for Him or put Him at the centre. This verse  indicates that we need to make way for Him in the wilderness. Now, wilderness can be different for different people, depending on what you are going through. But this is a place where you may be going through a rough patch, where you are in need and don't have it  all figured out. Take the children of Israel for example in the book of Exodus, their wilderness was a physical place, where they were away from their "comfort", familiar place, where they didn't have it figured out on what's going on. God was in charge of everything, the place they slept at, the food they ate, the water they drank etc. In this  case, they just had t

Hold on tight to your hope...

Image
Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise. In trying times, where there's uncertainty, all we can do, is hold on tight to the hope we have in Jesus Christ. This is what keeps us going and strengthens our faith. I have recently  been urged to never forget what the Lord has done for me in the past, but to keep reminding myself of the things He delivered me from, the victories He gave me and how He parted the "sea" for me, in the past. This serves as a reminder that whatever challenge I may be facing then, it is nothing to our God, who is in charge and in control of everything here on earth. This fuels our faith, as we remind ourselves that we have a Father who is mighty and to whom nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37). This  has indeed increased my faith and my hope remains in Him. May this serve as reminder and a weapon to strengthen your faith, to never lose hope. So long as God is still on His thron

Worship the Lord your God!

Image
1 Peter 3:15 Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. Always worship Christ as your Lord. This is important, by so doing, you are making a clear statement  on who is your Lord. To yourself, to people around you and even the enemy. R emember  the 10 commandments that Moses wrote as instructed by God, one of them makes it clear that we shall not worship any other god besides Him, very important! God does not want to share His glory, His honour, because He has no rival,  and He has no equal. No one is above Him. Therefore, we need to worship Him, giving  Him the honour that He deserves. I'm certain we'll agree that the Lord deserves the honour and glory, for who He is and what He has done for us. When we put our trust in Him, this would be evident to everybody else, and that is why this verse urges us to know and have an answer ready in  case someone asks about your hope as a believer

Be strong and courageous, God's got you!

Image
Deuteronomy 31:6 So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” These were the words spoken by God to Joshua, who was about to take over from Moses, in leading  the Israelites to the promise land. With s uch a huge task  it was expected that he will be fearful and doubtful, but God was strengthening Him, indicating that He will be with him as He was with Moses, that He won't leave him nor forsake him. I believe this must have given Joshua some comfort , knowing that he is not alone, but God is helping him every step of the way. I believe  without a shadow of doubt that this is exactly what God is also saying to each one of us, in different aspects of our lives. There could be a decision to be made , changing locations, career change, starting that business, whatever that God has you do, follow His leading and allow His to have His way with you. They say th

Those who TRUST in the Lord, will renew their strength

Image
Isaiah 40:31 But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. The most important thing that this verse is showing is, is to trust in the Lord. It has benefits as the Lord promises to renew our strength. Understandably so, that from time to time, we may find our strengths depleted, in this case, we need to rely on God to renew us. Also, I've recently learned that the warfare that we face at times, which are attacks from the enemy, may results to depleted strength. In this case, we need to put on our full armour of God to fight it off, with the word of God, our faith, our righteousness and prayer, as alluded to in Ephesians 6:10-18. When we do this, God will intervene and restore us, restore our strength. Therefore, from what we learn from this bible verse, those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength, they'll never faint, they'll keep going and will soar

Salvation is a gift from God, receive it...

Image
Ephesians 2:8-9 God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.  Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Salvation indeed is not something we earned by our works, that we can boast about, but it is a gift from God to us. Like the bible says, whilst we were sinners, Jesus died for our sins to receive this salvation, hence we did not earn it, it was a blessing given by God, way before we even saw the light. A heavy price was paid for our salvation, which is why we must not dare take it for granted, somebody experienced deep pain and died for us. Noting that we can never repay or thank Him enough, all we can do is recognize it and appreciate it. God did it for us because He loves us. My plea to you, is that don't make a mistake of not receiving this beautiful gift that God is giving us, which is salvation through Christ. God can and He did make a way for this to happen, but

God says forgive them to free YOU!

Image
Matthew 6:14 “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. Forgiving a person, is a big ask, not very easy; particularly if you have been done really wrong. However, our Heavenly Father is asking us to forgive! This is one of His principles, and He doesn't expect this of us, not knowing how hard it is, but He says this because He knows it is the right thing to do and that it is possible. He is the first One to have done it, hard as it was but He did, for us. Our sins were filthy,  and they created a wedge between us and Him, however, He was willing to look past our wrong and devise  a mechanism that will allow this forgiveness- and that was to send His Son to earth to die for us. Painful, but He did it. Now God is asking us to do what He did, to forgive  those who have wronged us. This is not to do it because you  say what they did is right or insignificant, but it is to release you from the bondage of bitterness, hurt that is caused by unforgi
