With God, ALL things are possible!

Image
Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” With God, ALL things are possible! This is something we should always keep in mind, so that when we are faced with difficulties, we don't just throw in the towel, but we remember  the One who is able to do all things. The bible shows us through many stories,  the power of God, how He is able to turn things around. For example, one of the greatest miracles performed in the face of adversity for the Israelites, where they thought it was the end for them when Pharaoh was after them, but God parted the sea for them to walk through! T he size of the sea didn't matter, God was able to give instructions and the sea made way! This shows us that no matter how bad the situation may seem, and how hard we've tried to resolve the issue in our own strength, nothing is impossible for God. He can still turn it around and bring victory. This also makes us not to limit ourselv...

God is calling on us to be bold!

Image
Isaiah 41:10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. God is calling on us to not be afraid, nor be discouraged but to be bold. This could be in any area of our lives, where we may feel led to stretch and come out of comfort zone. We know we serve a Mighty God, who is able to do all things; this requires us to think big and ask big from Him. He is waiting on the other side to hold us up with His strong right hand and  allow us to be victorious. Of course,  the enemy is not going to like that, because he wants us to play small, look down on ourselves  and live a mediocre life. This is why God is calling us to not be afraid. 2 Timothy 1:7 says: " For  God hath not given us  the  spirit of fear ; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" Fear comes from the enemy and boldness, power comes from the Spirit of God. When faced with...

There is power in encouraging others...

Image
Hebrews 10:24-25 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.  And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near. This verse has three important components that we need to pay attention to. That we must think of ways to motivate one another. We all know there's too much negativity out there, bad news is everywhere and this can be discouraging. Thus, we need to be vessels of hope and light to people around us. We need to lift each other up, so we may stay motivated and be able to forge our way through. The second part is that we must not neglect coming together as the body of Christ, thus as a church. This is where we get reminded that there is still hope and that God is still in control. We get a chance of getting and giving an opportunity to carry each other's burdens of life, as the children of God as we go through lots of trials. But also, it i...

My God will meet all your needs!

Image
Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus. Do you believe this? God will meet all your needs, according to His riches. God owns everything, the world belongs to Him and everything in it (Psalm 24:1). Meaning, our Father owns all the resources that are required to cover our needs, to help us deliver on our assignments and more. Which is why we refer to Him as the Source. not that your employer is your source, but God is your source, He gets these resources to you through your employer. Even those that do not have employers, whether unemployed or self-employed , God will still find a way to send the resources required to meet your needs . Which is why, as children of God, we don't go out of our way and chase wealth Matthew 6:33 is very clear. The order is simple, you seek God and His righteousness, meaning, you do that which He has assigned you to do, where He placed you; then He promises to take care of all your needs...

An armour of God is important to shield against temptations.

Image
1 Corinthians 10:13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure. This is so comforting. Life is full of distractions and things that would want to draw us away from God and His presence; however, this verse reminds us that when we go through temptations, we must not see it as an unfair situation where we are the only ones going through it. What we need to remember is that everyone goes through the same. An added advantage for us is that God is with us, even when we go through those temptations, He is still with us. Just like God was with Jesus when He was tempted by the devil just after a 40-day fast. Jesus stood on the word of God and was able to overcome the schemes of the enemy! In the same way, I believe  God will provide similar help for us. The key is to know the word of God, what God ...

The power, the glory belongs to Him; He shall be exalted!

Image
1 Chronicles 29:11 Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is Yours. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom; You are exalted as head over all. We shout praises to Him, not because everything is ok or things are going our way, but because we are in awe of His power, His might! Because of His great love, compassion, kindness, forgiving heart. We do it because of His abilities to do things that are impossible. He deserves all the honour and glory. This verse today reminds us of who our Father truly is. We may be caught-up in the day-to-day frenzy, where we almost forget that God is with us and for us. Let's take a moment to acknowledge His presence, His power and love, even in the midst of the chaos, He is still God. In fact, in Psalm 46:10, He says: “ Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. ” God specializes with problems, challenges and issues ...

You will share in His glory (post the suffering)

Image
Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If any of you wants to be My follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow Me . God sent Jesus to earth for a number of reasons; one of them was for Him to be an example to us, a model. To show the way. Now, as the children of the Most High, we are called to follow Him and allow God to use us for His will. The bible tells us that Jesus is the way, truth and the life, in John 14:6. This shows us, that the real way of life, is found  in Him. Therefore, in this verse, Jesus tells us what to do, when we want to follow Him. To give up our way and take up our crosses and follow Him. This is not meant literally, but it is figuratively. In other words, we need to give up control to Him, give up thinking that we can do thinks our way, according to our plans but recognize that life was not meant to be that way. We were meant to work in partnership with God, where He leads us in the way we should go. The part abo...

His plans prevails...

Image
Proverbs 16:9 We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps. I think the sooner ww make peace with this fact, the better. God is the one that guides our footsteps, who determines which direction we take and how that happens. We may have desires and wishes for certain things in life, at times plans that are aligned with God's plans (when He places those desires in our hearts) and at times our plans may be in a different direction to God's plans. To have a peaceful  life, it is to know that God is in control and His will, His plan  for our lives prevails. This helps when things suddenly changes and they are no longer as we anticipated, then we accept quicker the way things have turned out; as  we understand that it is in God's plans. Fighting the process leads to stagnation, frustration and delays. Insisting on our ways/plans, can also lead to painful learning lessons and rework. So, having a plan is not a bad thing, in fact we should make time for this. Th...

Instructions: submit to the Lord and resist the devil.

Image
James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Two key actions we are given here, to submit to God and to resist the devil. Submitting ourselves to God includes surrendering control to Him, recognizing that His ways are better than ours. That our plans may have flaws or be short-sighted whilst His, go from generation to generation. Also, submitting to God, is showing respect and being obedient to His will and instructions. Like father Abraham, who is described in the bible as a man with faith, that pleased God. When God gave him instructions, he would not hesitate but follow as instructed. Remember when he was instructed to sacrifice his one and only son? By faith, he trusted God's plans, even when in the flesh it was painful. By so doing, he resisted the devil that was whispering to him not to follow the instructions of God. Basically, going against what the fesh or what you see in the flesh, and keeping your eyes on the Lord. This becomes...

The Lord is my Rock!

Image
Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. Even if God doesn't do anything more for us, we should still be in a position to show gratitude for ALL that He has already done for us, thus far. Psalm 91 really shows us that sometimes we reap the benefits of being His children without being fully aware and it's such verses that reminds us of the things He does for us, even if we are not aware. It talks about protection during the night and day, it shows us that there could be a number of people all around us, who may fall but we will still be standing. This specifically  reminds me of the grace God has shown us, during the days of COVID-19, a lot happened but we are still standing! It's not because we were too cautions, isolated etc. etc. but because of His grace and mercy, that we found cover in Him. This verse today, confirms how much of a rock (sta...

When we ask, He hears us...

Image
1 John 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will , He hears us. Indeed, God hears us when we pray...We are grateful for the sacrifice God made, through Jesus, who torn the veil and we got access to God directly. This gives us confidence to approach God just as we are; through Jesus Christ, we are the righteousness of God and thus, we can come boldly at His throne to ask (2 Corinthians 5:21). However, when we ask, we know that He hears us.  Matthew 7:7 tells us to ask and it shall be given to us. This because God listens to our prayers. Psalm 116:2 says: " Because He bends down to listen , I will pray as long as I have breath!" He listens to us when we pray. What we need to pay attention to, is to not think that God doesn't  hear us or doesn't  answer, simply because we haven't received what we asked for. At times, it is not a denial, but perhaps God is making you wait. Or He perhaps have something bette...

The truth has set us free!

Image
John 8:31-32 Jesus said to the people who believed in Him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings.  And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Jesus teaches us the importance  to remain faithful to His teachings, thus the bible and the learning lessons we get from there. Which He refers to it as the truth, that the more we remain in His teachings , it is the more we know the truth. In the times we live in, there's a lot going on, information overload which can be overwhelming , misleading and depressing. However, the word of God serves as a tool that keeps us in-check, grounded and anchored to our Source. It reveals the actual truth on everything . As I grow older and invest time in reading the bible, it is then that I realize that the bible is truly our guide, it reveals the character of God and what He says about us, it reveals who we are in Him. It further reveals what pleases God and what makes Him unhappy. The bible se...

Unless the Lord is at the centre of it all, it is a waste!

Image
Psalm 127:1 Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the LORD protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good. The Lord deserves to be put first in everything! He is the Source. This verse cautions us  that whatever we do on our own, in our own strength, without God being the centre, we are wasting our time. An example of a house built without the presence and approval of  the Lord, is a waste; those builders would have wasted their time as the sure foundation,  which is God Himself, is not securing it. The guards outside a city, an estate, a house etc. if God is not the centre of the security , where we put our hope on the guards instead  of on God who will work through the guards, then we are wasting our time, that establishment  will not be secured, anything can happen. God wants to be part and parcel of our daily lives. Whatever we do, we need to invite and acknowledge Him. Do everything unto His glory. This...

God is doing a new thing!

Image
Isaiah 43:18-19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.  For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. God is urging us to not dwell on the past, the former things but to look to what He is doing now. The past serves as a learning lesson, and tools that could potentially be used by God in the future, but not to keep our focus thereon. God says He is doing a new thing in our lives, something  to look forward to. This new thing is different for everyone, but God says it's already starting to take shape. He is making a way where there seems to be no way! For us, we just need to believe! What's important is to not to fight the process, where we don't understand what's happening, remembering that God is in control; that brings comfort and stability as we put our faith in Him. This means when you see a door suddenly shuts on your face, you...

Pay attention to what you pursue...love and righteousness leads to life!

Image
Proverbs 21:21 Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honour. The Lord pays attention to our every move, He takes keen interest in what we pursue. This has a bearing on what will in turn materialize in our lives. This verse teaches us that a person who pursues righteousness, holiness and love, will find life, prosperity and honour. These don't just happen overnight, but through our consistent behaviour and habits that would be a seed we sow, which yields results to things that are intangible like life, prosperity  and honour. Galatians 6:7-8 says:  “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap . For he who sows to the  flesh  will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting  life ." This reminds us that our actions always have consequences, the end result could be life or destruction.  Deuteronomy  30:19  refers: God ...

Love and pray for your enemies...

Image
Matthew 5:43-44 “You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy.  But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! Jesus is always stretching us, pulling us from being just average to exceptional. This commandment may seem tough and impossible, as with humans it is easy not to like the one who is your enemy, but loving your selected few. However, in the kingdom of God, there needs to be a distinction between the non- believers  and the believers . As a believer, you are called to love everyone, including your enemy. Infact the bible says pray for your enemies, bless them and wish them well. This clears your conscious  and helps keep you from having hateful feelings in your heart and  wishing others harm. No matter how much your enemy has done you bad, the Lord says do not avenge for yourself instead take it to Him, as vengeance is the Lord's (Romans 12:19). This means, God will be the one who decides punishment for you...

The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord!

Image
Habakkuk 2:14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea. When you think how wide the water cover the sea, is un-imaginable! That is how much the earth (people) will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord, which is great! It's sad when you hear the Lord in the book of Hosea 4:6, say people perish because of lack of knowledge, tragic. To think that God sacrificed His Son for us to have a glimpse of who He is and to share the knowledge and light in the world, and yet people still find it hard to believe and be saved. Which is why in John 14:6, Jesus said I am the way, truth and life. In order for us to have life, we have to look to Him; to know the truth (in the world full of confusion), we have to look to Him; and also to know which way to follow, we have to look to Him. Therefore, the bible, which is the word of God, is full of this knowledge. The more we spend time soaking ourselves in it, it's the more God reveals t...

Be as Bold as a Lion!

Image
Proverbs 28:1 The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion . Throughout the bible, we hear God telling us not to be afraid, but to be courageous. This verse, emphasizes that as children of God, we can and must be bold as a lion! There are many reasons for this, some of them includes the fact that we are made in His image and we are His children. When you learn  of the character of God, indeed, you can say He is bold! Hence, we are expected to exhibit His characters. Another reason we can be bold, is that we have the Holy Spirit living in us, who is our Guide, Helper, Comforter, and so much more (1 John 4:4). Greatness living in us...So why not be bold, as God is with you?  The book of 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that: " For  God has not given us  a  spirit of fear , but of power and of love and of a sound mind" This is boldness, we are told we don't have the spirit of fear in us, but the spirit of power, love and a sound mind...

Your sins are wiped away

Image
Acts 3:19 Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. The greatest gift from God, was Jesus who was sacrificed to cleanse our sins. Thus, we are receiving  this invitation from God, to turn away from our sins and repent; ask for forgiveness and walk away from that which is not pleasing to God. God promises to cleanse us and wipe away the sins. This ensures that we are in good standing with God and that we let loose of the hold that the devil may have over us, as a result of a particular sin. If the sin is hidden and not acknowledged, the devil will use it to condemn us, make us feel guilty and unworthy of the love of God. His plan is always to pull us away from our loving Father. But we need to resist and come against that, as the sacrifice has already been given, our sins cleansed. We just need to acknowledge and repent from our wrongs so that we may be free. Receive the gift of freedom and remain in obedience to Christ. Never live a life fu...

He loved us so much...

Image
1 John 4:9 God showed how much He loved us by sending His one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through Him. There are so many  things that can be used as evidence that God loves us, but this one, is the ultimate. Only when you really think about what it took God to allow this to happen, that you realize that He truly loves us. From the onset, God orchestrated  the whole thing that Jesus would be born as a human, grow up as a human being, suffer what we normally go through and eventually be led to His death. They say the purpose for Jesus was that He was born to die (for us). As God planned this, this was the whole idea, that time will come where His beloved  Son would be crucified and killed the most painful death, in order to rebuild the relationship  with us. As this took place, it must've crushed Him to see what was happening to His Son and He had the power to stop everything, but the prize behind that pain, allowed Him to let i...

God says don't worry about tomorrow...

Image
Matthew 6:34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. This verse cautions us not to keep worrying about things we have no control  over, as tomorrow's issues will be dealt with then. But to rather pay attention and focus on the present, enjoy each day as it is a gift from God, because tomorrow is not guaranteed. In this case, we can embrace the day that we have witnessed and make the most out of it. This is not playing ignorant to the future, but we ought to do what the Lord asks of us to do, to bring to Him all the worries we have and be free (Matthew 11:28-30 and 1 Peter 5:7). God will take care of that as He cares for you. This is to ensure that we don't miss out on the gift of today, by constantly worrying about what's to come. Yes plans can be made for the future and committed  to the Lord to see them through (Proverbs 16 and Habakkuk 2). Also to remember that God promised to take care of our needs...

God has good plans for your life

Image
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. When life happens, we need to go back to what God said first, to find our foundation and truth. This verse serves as a basis of what God thinks towards us, what He wishes and wants for us. God has great plans for each one of us, plans that are for good not evil or disaster but ones that leads to a good future. That is the truth that we need to know for sure, without a shadow  of doubt that God cares for us and He desires for us to have a good future. This will help when you come across the storms of life and the devil starts whispering and planting seeds of doubt in your heart that perhaps God doesn't care for you or something like that. When you are rooted in Him, you will quickly remember that those serve as schemes to get you off track, that's  when you'll need to be convinced of what God said first. Remember  God sai...

Trust in the Lord!

Image
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.  Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take. The new year is upon us and some have already made some resolutions for their lives. The year 2022 may have been successful, or not, fruitful or not but I'm certain there are learning lessons that we can take into the new year, for improvements. One of them is expressed in this bible verse that we must not lean on or rely on our own understanding, but to trust in the Lord with all of our hearts. The year 2022 has shown me that I was able to gain some victories as a result of the help from the Lord. Also, I have experienced difficulties that were part of God's plans. What I know for sure, is that in all this, God's love for me didn't change and His plans for my life remains intact. Hence, His plans and ways of doing things, is not off-course but to us it may seem incorrect but to Him it may be within the bi...
