He can make your enemies to live in peace with you...

Image
Proverbs 16:7 When a man’s ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. We all want a life that is somewhat stable, with peace and no turbulence. However, we know that we have an enemy that is always out to steal kill, destroy and us; all these manifesting through the people in our surroundings. However, this word shows that there comes a time, where God steps in and make things alright for us, by covering us with peace even from our enemies. For example, in a workplace, there could be a manager that is always displeased with everything and everyone, but through the grace of God, you might find yourself working with peace with that manager. This happened to me a couple of years ago, I was amazed that from my side, there was no turbulence that most people experienced.  I believe God is in control of everything  and everyone. Remember the story of Moses and Pharaoh  (in the book of Exodus), God was controlling   Pharaoh's  anger and stubbornness . God wou

Your are chosen to be His treasured possession!

Image
Deuteronomy 14:2 for you are a people holy  to the  Lord  your God.  Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the  Lord  has chosen you to be His treasured possession . Hallelujah! The Lord calls you His holy people, the chosen ones to be His treasured possessions! How great is that! With such a statement, fact, you shall never let anyone else tell you otherwise. They may have their own opinion, but that doesn't have to be your reality, know who you are in Christ! These words are defining you, telling you how God sees you. He is your creator, He defined you as He was creating you. Jeremiah 1:5 says:  “Before I formed you in the womb   I knew   you,   before you were born I set you apart;   I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” God knew you before you were born; He knew everything about you and even assigned and anointed  you to be His vessel. Contrary to that, the world didn't know you then and they don't know details about you like God does. Hence, choose

Embrace who you are and whose you are!

John 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.  Jesus is saying these words about the children of God, which  includes you and I. We are in the world but are not of the world. This simply means, physically , we are located in the world , but spiritually, we are in union with Christ. We suffer with and for Christ and will get glory with Christ. Remember Romans 12:2 that says:  Do not conform  to the pattern of this world,  but be transformed by the renewing of your mind .  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —His good, pleasing  and perfect will." Thus, as we read the word of God, we access the mind of Christ, we get the revelation of His kingdom, and by so doing, we have our minds transformed to the new kingdom. We start seeing things  in a different light, where we find ourselves being able to do things that we couldn't do on our own. This through the assistance of the Holy Spirit. This becomes evident through  the fruits of the Spirit

He works out ALL things for our good!

Image
Romans 8:28 (NIV) And we know that in all things God works for the good  of those who love Him, who  have been called  according to His purpose. Indeed God works ALL things for our good, no matter the circumstance. I've seen this in many situations and I just had one today, wow, God is great. God is able to come through in your distress, in a situation  that could seem impossible to resolve, where you run out of ideas and you just surrender, that's  when God comes through and sort it out. He did this so fast and so clean, I was so amazed! Problem A and B resolved. He even defends us in the process, where we are not able to  speak for ourselves, He comes and straighten a situation! I've been reading Psalm 91 (as instructed, for protection and would advise you do the same) and in that passage, in verse 2 it says: "You are my defender and protector. You are my God; in you I trust." (Good News Translation). Indeed, He defends our case at all times. Understanding this

Believe and receive the word for yourself!

Image
Psalm 103:3 He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases . There are many things I've learnt about God, His word and what He expects of us (and still learning). One thing that has been a game changer for me, about our faith, is to receive what the bible tells me, the promises of the Lord. The bible is a big book, which has different stories of people of faith and how they overcame many things through the power of God. Also many stories about Jesus and His miracles. I used to think that we read these stories and leave it at that. However, I've learnt that we need to receive these promises for ourselves, to internalize and believe what the word says. This, regardless of to whom were  these words said to, but what's important is that I'm also included in that as a child of God, I'm also included in that which God said. For example, where in the bible God tells Joshua to be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:9), I receive the word for myself. That God is also tel

God has assigned your angels...

Image
Exodus 23:20  “ Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared . We have angels all around us that have been discharged by God for our sake. Some angels come in a form of humans, people in our day to day life, who come and assist us, fight for us and at times come to make our lives easier, to achieve certain things. And I believe these are the angels God is referring to in this verse. He says He has sent His angel before us to guide and ensure we reach our destiny, that we reach the destined place. How awesome is that! At times you might wish to achieve certain things, but come across stumbling blocks all the way...Very frustrating. I have encountered this a number  of times. However, God always makes a way, He sends someone to be an answer to your prayers, a solution to your problems. As is now, there are certain things I need to do, but I feel stuck, but I already know God will make a way, as He always does. I believe

God will make your enemies your footstool...

Image
Psalm 110:1 Of David. A  psalm . The LORD says to my lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet. ” When the enemy wages war against the children of God, He intervenes and fight for them. In the book of Exodus 23, God tells the Israelites that this is what He will do to their enemies:  “I will send my terror ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you encounter . I will make all your enemies turn their backs and run .   I will send the hornet ahead of you to drive the Hivites, Canaanites and Hittites out of your way". As we pray to Him for help and put on our full armor , God answers our prayers and take control.  Fighting war with the enemy can be exhausting, and hence in this verse, God says He will make your enemies footstool for you. A footstool  is a structure or chair  that allows feet to get some rest on. Thus, God will give you rest, with your enemy under your feet. They shall never rise against you again. God will give you c

He loved us first...

Image
1 John 4:19 We love because He first loved us. God has shown us the greatest love ever...We love because of what He has shown us, we are reciprocating what we see and feel. It might not match up to His love, but we do our best to show gratitude for what He has already done for us. His act of love, can be seen in many things but the greatest of them all, is found in John 3:16 where God gave His one and only Son, to be our sacrifice, a bridge for us. Another act of love and appreciation for us, is in the book of Genesis where God created everything by word, but took His time to create that which resembled Him. The bible tells us that we are created in His image, this says a lot about the affection God has for us. For everything that God created in the 6 days, the bible tells us He would recognize it as good. Never feel less loved or unappreciated, if the world is not showing you the affection you long for. God, our Creator loves you very much. Jeremiah 1:5 says:  “ Before I formed you i

Discerning what is best, pure and blameless...

Image
Philippians 1:9-10 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,   so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ , It is the will of God for us to have insight and discernment  to see good from evil, to identify what is best and pure so that we may pursue that and align our lives with such. Our walks here on earth are linked with the deciding factor for when we pass away from this earth, whether God sees us fit to enter His kingdom  or not- when Christ returns. It is something we don't like thinking about, but it is a reality and which is why the bible urges us to stay ready, as we don't know the hour, the day, the minute, nothing. However, this is not to make us live in fear, but it forces us to recognize what Christ did for us on the cross; to acknowledge it and benefit from it. It is not to be too hard on ourselves, trying to be perfect and live up to some standard. But

Be sure to be in need of Him, always...

Image
Matthew 5:3 (NLT) 'God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for Him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. Those who are poor in spirit, whether as a result of persecution, oppression, lack etc. they are in a position to look for help from the Lord, to be saved from whatever might be oppressing them. Unlike those who might've created wealth by themselves, who might feel they are in control and proud of themselves, they are least likely to look for help, as they could think they are in control. However, the bible tells us that those who are poor with less, are actually more blessed than the rich but wicked, who could lose everything at once.  The most important aspect is the posture of your heart. Do you recognize God in your life as the one who is your Source, your provider, healer, protector and promoter? Because if you do, it doesn't matter whether you are still in Egypt, in the wilderness or already in the promised land, God will be your centre. You'll b

Strengthen your faith...

Image
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God . Hebrews 11:6 says it is impossible to please God without faith. Therefore, faith is important in our relationship with God. It is by faith that we are saved, it is by faith that we believe in Him that we have not seen with our own eyes, only by His works. Thus, we need to continuously build our faith, else we'll be lost and go back to darkness. This verse tells us how to build faith which is through hearing the word of God. The word of God is contained in the bible, which is why the bible is seen as our  treasure , as it has the good news of God.  Hearing the word of God could be as simple as reading the bible, listening to a sermon and also the worship songs, which are based on the word of God. From what this verse says, we need to make it a priority that we hear the word of God, because failure to do so, the world will fill us with it's own theory, which can result in fear building up in us, as a

His reward includes riches, honour and life!

Image
Proverbs 22:4 The reward for humility and fear of the LORD is riches and honor and life.   Pride goes before destruction. God shows us in this verse that there's a reward in being humble and fearing Him. Fearing Him is not in the context of fear-punishment, but fear as in like respect and acknowledgement. If we acknowledge who He is and what He has done, without taking any credit or glory for ourselves, that is showing respect to Him. Therefore, if we do show respect and put Him first place, His rewards includes honour, riches and life! Great! If you humble yourself, He'll be the one to elevate you and give you honour, in due season. Also, Matthew 6:33 says we must seek His kingdom  first and all shall be added unto us. This means we don't go looking  for riches as this might lead to the love of money and treasure in the wrong places, but that we seek Him, and when we do that, He will reward us with riches! Isn't that nice! These are the riches that are added unto you,

The world is waiting on you...

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. We are not some cheap material objects or things, but masterpieces, crafted by God Himself! The bible tells us that God created everything in 6 days, He spoke a word and everything came to being. However, on the sixth day, God created man with His own hands. He took His time to create that which resembled Him. He paid attention to detail, crafted to perfection. Then who can call you otherwise, other than the masterpiece that God calls you to be? I pray God reveals to you your true identity, not what the world has defined you as but the way God has created you to be, a masterpiece from His very image! Through Adam, we  have fallen into sin, we are told that we were born into sin. However, through God's amazing love for us, He redeemed us by sending His one and only Son, to die for us, in order for our status can change forever. We are f

You shall not labour in vain!

Image
Isaiah 65:23 They will not labour in vain ,  nor will they bear children doomed to misfortune;   for they will be a people blessed by the  Lord ,   they and their descendants with them. These are some of the promises of the Lord. That as a child of God, you shall not labour in vain; meaning what you do, will bear fruits. It is our birthright as commanded by God in the book of Genesis that we must go and be fruitful. Everything we do, in one way or the other, is impactful. It has the ability to bring about change, victory, healing and more . Which  is why, even our words should be used wisely. The bible tells us that the power of death and life is in our tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Therefore, decide to speak life, to be a blessing and to make someone's life better (not worse). Furthermore, God promises that our descendants  will not be doomed to misfortune, which is awesome! We want a better life for those that come after us, hence, the promise of the Lord doesn't end with us, but

He will command His angels to guard you!

Image
Psalm 91:11-12 For He will command His angels concerning you  to guard you in all your ways ;  t hey will lift you up in their hand,   so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. What a promise this is! God will command His angels to guard you, keep and protect you. God is protective and He shows His love by sending His angels to be our guard, wherever we are. These angels are all around us, whether we are awake or asleep, at work or even at home. They are 24 hours on guard. Then why should we fear? Mark 16:18 further confirms that even when we are put in a trap unknowingly to drink a poisoned drink, it will not hurt us due to the full-time protection. The thing about God's protection, is not only for the things we see physically and can perceive, but also for things we don't realize. God knows all and He sees all. He will use His angels to protect us, from all harm!  Which is why we ought to give thanks to Him always, sometimes He protects us from things we didn&#

You can approach His throne with boldness!

Image
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. When we are born again in Christ, our sins were forgiven; all of them! Which is why the bible says there is now no condemnation, on any of the things of the past (Romans 8:1). Therefore, realizing that, gives us the boldness to approach His throne for mercy. Jesus was made to be sin (ours), when He knew no sin and was sacrificed for our regard. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says that we are the righteousness of God, through Christ. Meaning, through the blood of Jesus, we were made holy, forgetting  all the terrible things that we might have done in the past. When God looks at us, He sees us as His righteousness because of Jesus. That is awesome! Therefore, you must never allow the devil to discredit what Christ has done on the cross, by reminding you of what you have done or what you might not have done. You are the righteousness of Christ. God is pleased with you,

Jesus came to give us life in abundance!!!

Image
John 10:10 (ESV) The thief comes only to steal and  kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly . It's interesting how this verse is structured, where we are told that the enemy came to steal from us, kill us and/or destroy us; and right next to the statement, Jesus says He has come to give us life and life more abundantly. This proves that in life, there's good and evil; we need to be aware that evil is there and it is there to destroy. The enemy is not for us. But what we need to pay more attention to, is Jesus!  Jesus came to give us life, and life more abundantly! How awesome is that. His death, ensured that we have abundant life. This means, we are not here to live a life that is just ordinary, but life that overflows. Remember God said He is blessing us to be blessings to others (Genesis 12). Therefore, we can't be blessings to others if we are not blessed and overflowing. However, remember that we live by faith, if God is still preparing

The Lord will make you the head, not the tail!!

Image
Deuteronomy 28:13 (NIV) The  Lord  will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the  Lord  your God that I give you this day and carefully follow  them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. I heard something powerful today, that as you humble yourself, allowing God first place in your life, He will make you a head not a tail. It's like the opposite of the laws of the natural. That in order for you to be lifted in some sort of position, you have to be forceful, be selfish, put yourself first and at times scheme to get ahead. But with God, it is just the opposite. The moment you realize that God is in control and He guides your path, it is when you humble yourself, be in positions that may seem low, where people lookdown on you, overlook you and opportunities being passed on to others and not you. But this is down-payment with God. When He sees that you are now ready, He pulls you out from the pit. He pulls you from the back of the lin

He will guard and guide you...

Image
Psalm 121:3 He will guard and guide me, never letting me stumble or fall.   God is my keeper; He will never forget nor ignore me.   It is so reassuring  and comforting knowing that God will always guard and guide us through the right path. That the choices we make, right or wrong, He will reroute us when we get lost (just like a GPS does) and whilst in the process, He will cause things to work out for our good (Romans 8:28). He will never let us stumble or fall as He is our keeper. Another verse says though I fall, I shall rise again . That's the grace of God. Lastly, that He will not forget nor ignore us. I have learn that it is important to know the truth, whilst things are ok, to know what God says He will do for us, so that when you come against trouble, you are not caught off guard, where you may easily despair  and think  it is the end of the world. Knowing and believing the word of God that He will guard you, allows you to be able to face the storms of life with reassurance

Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you...

Image
Galatians 5:25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. When we became born again, we were gifted with the Holy Spirit, as our guide, helper, comforter and much more. We are then urged to allow the Holy Spirit to lead every aspect of our lives, where we give God the full control of our lives, so that He may direct it according to His plan. This I must say is not easy, as we are used to making decisions on our own as we go and as we see fit. But allowing God to take charge, means you agree to things that you would normally not agree with. I'll make  an example about myself. Time came where I could see my career was not going anywhere  and there wasn't  growth. Even after efforts of self development etc. That's when I checked in with God and He guided me to a career opportunity that was less than what the one I was at. However, before this happened, God promised to be my provider and led me to see that I must not see t

God doesn't look on the appearance, but the heart.

Image
1 Samuel 16:7 But the  Lord  said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The  Lord  does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance,  but the  Lord  looks at the heart.” This is around the story of Prophet Samuel who was instructed by the Lord to anoint  the next king of Israel, and had indicated the next king to be one of Jesse's sons. What Jesse did, was to call all his sons who were home upon the request of Samuel, but left out David who was in the field, looking after his flock. However, when Jesse brought them to Samuel to anoint , God said none of them were the one; that he must not look on the physical appearance as humans  do, but what matters is the heart. This is when Samuel asked Jesse if he had other sons, and only then he remembered David and when David arrived, God instructed Samuel to anoint  him. This story shows us that sometimes people may overlook us because of our appearances and othe

You are God's masterpiece!

Image
Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago. God created us as masterpieces! A masterpiece , is a piece of work  that is done with outstanding artistry, with skill; to perfection. If that is the case, we may never look down on ourselves, as we'll be questioning God's workmanship. He created us exactly the way He needs us to be, not as copies, randomly; but with a specific purpose to be fulfilled .  Other people may overlook the great things God has done in and with you, that is not your problem. Yours is to never allow the opinion of others to define you, because God has already done so, and that is that. If they see things different, allow them to, but don't make their opinions your reality. Believe what God says about you, that you are a masterpiece . It's like the saying that a ship never drowns in water under normal circumstances, it thrives in water as it was designed

Stand firm in the faith!

Image
1 Corinthians 16:13 Be on your guard; stand firm  in the faith; be courageous; be strong. The moment you give your life to Christ, that's the day you became an enemy with the devil. His job is to distract you, kill or destroy you, so that you may never enjoy what God has in store for you. John 10:10 says: " The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life,  and have it to the full ." The first part tells us of what the enemy wants to do, however, you need to know that you have Christ who overcame the enemy. His is to give you life, and life more abundantly. With this in mind, don't pay too much attention on the enemy, just be aware of his schemes  and do put on the full armor  of God. What is more important is that Jesus came to give you life more abundantly.  Therefore, stand firm on your faith, hold on to what God said and be strong and courageous. Don't live life in fear, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of

Allow the miracle of God to flow through you!

Image
Matthew 14:17 “We have here only five loaves  of bread and two fish,” they answered. These were the disciples of Jesus, as they had a big crowd and they had suggested to Jesus to send them away as they didn't  have food for them. However, Jesus stopped them and asked what they had. There was a boy who had 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. This is where the miracle happened . In the natural, there's no way 5 loaves could feed over 5 000 people; however, Jesus realized that God is a God of miracles, He is a way maker and that nothing is impossible for Him. Which is why He didn't  dismiss it as not enough, but He took the bread, looked up to heaven and prayed, and then broke it and gave it to the disciples to dish out. The bible tells us that everyone had enough and they had 12 baskets full of left over, one for each disciple. Amazing! This proved to the disciples that God can do ALL things, that He can feed multitudes over such little food, AND give them a basket to take home to

Power to demolish strongholds

Image
2 Corinthians 10:5 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.  We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. These were the words spoken by Paul to other believers; which is true indeed that the battles we face in life, are not fought using the  worldly  weapons but spiritual weapons which we have been given that have been proven to be effective to destroy strongholds by the power and the might of our Lord. We have the ability to use the weapons given to us, to destroy any obstacle and wickedness by the name of Jesus. Remember we do not do this out of our own power, but through the power of the One who lives in us- the Holy Spirit (1 John 4:4). Which is why we may never take glory for what God is doing in and through  us, as it is His power working in us to show His might. These weapons are des

Show hospitality to strangers, they might be angels...

Image
Hebrews 13:2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers,  for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Love is central to God, it is His character, it is who He is. He says love your neighbors as you love yourself. Not love only the ones you know, or the ones you prefer only, but love all as you love yourself. A tough instruction, but by the Holy Spirit, we are getting there. Remember love is one of the fruits of the Spirit, by the Holy Spirit, you'll be able to love as God has instructed you to.  This includes strangers too, God expects us to be good to strangers as well, not to be judgmental and having phobia towards them, but to allow the Holy Spirit to exhibit the love of God to them. There's a verse that reminds us that we must not forget for we were once strangers in the land of Egypt. Deuteronomy 10:19 says: " And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt." Thus, we must never
