Credit goes to our Protector, for our peaceful sleep...

Image
Psalm 4:8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety. God our Protector, gives us the ability to lie down and sleep, with no fear of any incident happening to us. Not claiming to have stiff security systems, watch dogs or guards, but putting our faith in Him to protect us as He has promised. Security guards may fall asleep and fail us, the system may become faulty and fail us, the dogs may be poisoned and fail us but the Lord will never fail us, which is why we put our trust in Him. Psalm 121:4 says: " Indeed, He who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps." Our heavenly Father does not slumber or fall asleep, He is watching over us the entire time, no matter where we are. This kind of protection, I bear witness to it, where attempts were made but the weapon did not succeed (Isaiah 54:17). In this case, you don't take the glory for yourself or the physical device, but you recognize the grace of God to provide cover. Psalm 91:11...

Prayer to remain in His presence...

Image
Psalm 27:4 The one thing I ask of the LORD— the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD’s perfections and meditating in His Temple. This is my wish as well...When you read the bible and you get to understand God and His principles, His plans for our lives and how He has given us the precious gift of Jesus for us to live in eternity (not to perish), you realize that all you need when the time comes and God takes you back home, is a "well done my good and faithful  servant". And get the pass to heaven. With the enemy roaming around on earth, provoking us and always pushing and pressing us against the wall, all we pray for, is Lord help us continue doing your will and leave everything else in your hands, for you told us the vengeance belongs to you (Romans 12:19). It is a tough world we live in, especially when you are enemy number 1, to the devil. Therefore, let us continue praying to the Lord to give us patience, ...

Build your life on a solid foundation!

Image
Matthew 7:24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. This is so important. When you consider this example, where a man that is considered wise builds his house on a rock, where the storm may come but the house will remain standing due to its strong foundation. But if a house is built on sand, where the foundation is loose and shaky, the storm will destroy it. Similar with us, if we build our lives on God, who is our rock and secures our lives, as a strong foundation, we shall never be consumed or destroyed when the storms of lives try  to take us out; we will still stand because of Him and His promises, and His protection. However, if our lives are not built on His word, we will be vulnerable to any conditions that threatens our lives. So, the word that we hear, may we never take it for granted, as it is building us and connecting us with our Father. In this case, we will be well equippe...

We have seen His glory...

Image
John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. We might not have lived in those days  when Jesus was walking the streets of Jerusalem, but we have witnessed His goodness and touch in our lives. Indeed, the word became flesh, where the promises were fulfilled and the virgin gave birth to our King. What a miracle we are witnessing! We are told that Jesus came to give us a glimpse of our Heavenly Father! His heart, His kindness, His goodness, His power, His presence. His glory is evident. This is why God allows us to go through difficulties, so that we may feel and see His power at work in us. Take sickness for example, if we never got sick, we wouldn't be so sure that indeed He is Jehovah Rapha, our Healer because we would not have seen His loving-kindness towards us, His mercy bringing healing in our lives. We wouldn't know Him as Jehovah Jireh, o...

He is the One who holds our heads up high!

Image
Psalm 3:3 But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the One who holds my head high. Amen, amen! God is so gracious, He is our everything. If we only knew from what God is protecting us from, we would praise Him with all our hearts. Behind the scenes, there are battles that God is blocking for us, fighting for our regard. The sooner we realize that we are at war, with the enemy, the  sooner we can appreciate our Protector, which is our Heavenly  Father. The moment you confessed Jesus is Lord, that was the day you became the enemy to the devil. 1 Peter 5:8 says: " Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour." This shows us that the enemy is behind us,  and we need to be on guard, at all times. And someone may ask, why me? I'm learning that the devil is actually not after your current state or status, but the potential that is within you, the treasure that God has deposited...

You reap what you sow...

Image
2 Corinthians 9:6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. This is one of the principles in the kingdom of God, that directly links to the farmer scenario, where in that which you sow little, you will reap only a little bit of harvest. It has a direct correlation. This is applicable to our lives as well. What you give, is what you will receive in return. Galatians 6:7-8 says : " Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life ." This can relate to what you pay attention to. If your focus is only on money, for yourself, being greedy and not looking out for others, that's what you will reap. If you don't give, you will not receive a harvest. R emember  the bible verse that said blessed is the hand that gives tha...

The gift of salvation is for all...

Image
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. This should  not be something we feel ashamed of, that we are believers  and we have been saved by the grace of God. This is Good News indeed, that Christ was crucified, He was buried,  and He rose again- He is alive and the purpose He was sent for, was fulfilled, in full! Our debt has been paid, we are forgiven and the veil that separated us from God was torn! Furthermore, through  Christ, we are healed by the stripes He endured on the cross (Isaiah 53:3-5); plus we can now access the life in abundance that Christ came to give us (John 10:10)! The key in this, is that what Jesus did, saving our lives, that is not limited to a certain few or nationality, anyone who confess and believe in their heart that Jesus is Lord, will be saved. God loves us all and He wants all of us to be saved and live in etern...

The Lord is good...

Image
1 Chronicles 16:34 Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever. The Lord is good and His love endures forever...We know this because of who He is, from His character, His presence, His power, His acts of love and His faithfulness. We can depend on Him as He comes through for us every time . He never fails us...When pushed to the corner and you feel your back is against the wall, try to remember how He came through  for you, in the past. That evidence quickly reminds you that  He is faithful and if He's done it before, certainly He will do it again. He just came through for me now...That's who He is. This is why we thank Him even before the victory is won, because we are confident on His word as He told us that His word will never return to Him void, but it shall accomplish that which it was set to (Isaiah 55:11). Hence, thanking Him in advance, shows Him that we trust Him and His abilities, it is basically faith, that we haven't seen it but...

Hear His voice and follow Him...

Image
John 10:3-4 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.  After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. This is another reflection, of how Jesus is to us. As our good Shepherd, He knows us one-by-one. So powerful that He can see us individually and knows us personally. When in a crowd, you may feel like it will be easy for Him to overlook, not see or hear you. But not with the Most High. This verse shows the relationship that the sheep has with its shepherd, that they recognize his voice and follow him. Same with us, we need to spend so much time with Him, such that we are able to recognize Him in the midst of the noise. Even when the voice of the enemy tries to deceive us, but to be able to discern when it is Him or the enemy. This, we can only achieve  by spending time seeking Him and also with the help of the H...

Be protective of the word of God!

Image
Luke 8:5-8 “A farmer went out to plant his seed. As he scattered it across his field, some seed fell on a footpath, where it was stepped on, and the birds ate it.  Other seed fell among rocks. It began to grow, but the plant soon wilted and died for lack of moisture.  Other seed fell among thorns that grew up with it and choked out the tender plants.  Still other seed fell on fertile soil . This seed grew and produced a crop that was a hundred times as much as had been planted!” When he had said this, he called out, “Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.” Jesus used to make His point using parables. This is one of them and it has so much truth in it. The word of God is likened  to the seed that the farmer scatter on the field, where some of these seeds fall on footpath , some on rocks, thorns and some on fertile ground. In the same way, the word we receive by reading the bible, we hear from a church sermon  or any other platform, we receiv...

Everything belongs to the Lord!

Image
Psalm 24:1 The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to Him. This is a great reminder, that everything belongs to the Lord. He is the creator  of earth and of heaven. Everything we see, everything we are and even what we don't see but know of, all belongs to the Lord. Sometimes we approach things as though we are the owner, but in actual fact, those too, belong to the Lord. Genesis 1 gives us the account of how God created everything, how everything was formed,  and it was by His word. Humans are an exception as He took an extra effort and created the first man and woman by His hands, quite intimate. This proves why God has such affection for us, that even when through sin (from the garden of Eden), He still longed to have a close relationship with us, that He made  a plan to send His Son to make amends. How gracious! One may ask how then did God continue building on this earth, as now there's human involvement in formulation...

Jesus is the resurrection and life!

Image
John 11:25-26 Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in Me will live, even after dying.  Everyone who lives in Me and believes in Me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?” We know the expression made in John 3:16 that tells us how God loved the world that gave His Son so that we may have life and not perish. This statement made by Jesus, is a confirmation of that, where indeed, through Him, we will never die (after dying), where we will live in eternity. This however happens when we believe in Him. Furthermore , because He is the resurrection and life, we can claim that for ourselves, in areas that  needs resurrection . The same power that rose Jesus from the dead, is the same power that lives in us, that is the Holy Spirit, this is according to 1 John 4:4. When we know such truths and believe in it, we can allow God to come and transform our lives in ways we didn't know possible. Jesus came to give us life and life in abunda...

Jesus is the way!

Image
John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Jesus is the way and that's that. Jesus came to reveal our Father and by faith, we believe in Him, because of who He is. We now have access to our Father, all because of what Jesus did on the cross, He sacrificed His all for us, so that we may mend our relationship with God. In this case, we are not able to say, we rebuilt the relationship with God (after the fall-out in the garden of Eden that separated  humans from God), on our own. How could we have done that? But with Jesus, we are able to say it confidently as He died on the cross, was buried and He resurrected. He completed the task that was required to take away our sins, give us eternal life, heal us, and mend our relationship with God (when the veil torn on that day). Therefore, Jesus is the way for us to access God.  In addition, He is the truth and life. Without Him, we have no life, we stand to pe...

Want to bear much fruit, attach yourself to Jesus!

Image
John 15:4-5 Remain in Me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.  “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. I used to hear this bible verse a lot growing up, though I didn't have a full understanding of what it means. I'm glad to have been exposed to its   explanation  and revelation. It is however, very important, as it speaks about bearing fruits. If you want to have a fruitful life, it is simple, attach yourself to Jesus; let Him be your Source, your centre and everything will be aligned. This verse basically reflects to us that just like a tree branch, if it is broken off from the entire tree, there is no way it can continue bearing fruit, because it has lost its source of life, which includes the roots that would supply it with nutrients, water etc. On its own, the branch ...

Jesus is the light of the world, and so are you!

Image
John 8:12 Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow Me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” Jesus, not only is He the bread of life and a good Shepherd, but He is also our Light! We need light in our daily life, we cannot do without it. The electricity black-outs time and again, reminds us how much light makes a difference in our daily activities. Without light, we are stuck, we can possibly hurt ourselves, we feel vulnerable and so much more. This on a practical basis. It is also true for our spiritual life as well, life in the dark, leaves us vulnerable to the schemes and plots of the enemy, that could trap us. We can go in circles because we don't have direction. Hence, with Jesus as our light, we have clarity, we have direction, we have security, and we are at ease because we know God is in control. Furthermore, this light that Jesus refers to, has been...

Jesus, the bread of life! Never go hungry with Him on your side!

Image
John 6:35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty. This is the best news that we should always embrace, He is the bread of life! When you read few verses before this  one, it was actually where one of the miracles that  Jesus performed, where He fed over 5000 people with just five loaves of bread and 2 fish! Even the disciples each had a basket of leftovers to take home, how amazing!  This  shows that with God on your side, you are covered, you have the ultimate Source. God has been teaching me about this that He owns everything in this world, everything belongs to Him,  and anything is possible with Him. He is not limited, instead, He is able to move around resources for our regard. The most important thing  is not to put our faith on something or someone, as our source. For example, make your employer your source, because should there be retrenchments (G...

He is our good Shepherd indeed!

Image
John 10:11 "I am the good Shepherd. The good Shepherd sacrifices His life for the sheep." As Psalm 23 says that the Lord is our Shepherd, Jesus is confirming that! He is indeed our good Shepherd. He laid down His life for His sheep, which is us. When He allowed Himself to be crucified and die a painful death for us, He was laying His life for our regard. He had us in mind and went ahead with God's plan. This doesn't mean it wasn't difficult, painful for Him (Matthew 27:45-46), it also doesn't mean He didn't  try to persuade God to relieve Him of this, indeed He did, however, He indicated that if this is God's will for Him, then let it be. We learn that sometimes we may want to find a way out of a situation, but are unable to, because our will is not the same as God's will. In this case, we need to let go and trust God and His will. He already told us that He has a future that will not harm us (Jeremiah 29:11). Won't we embrace what He did and ...

The prophecy was fulfilled!

Image
Mark 16:6 But the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead ! Look, this is where they laid His body." On this day, we celebrate the resurrection  of Christ from the dead! After three days, Jesus rose again, just as the prophecy said, it had to be fulfilled. The enemy thought they had gotten rid of Jesus, who indicated that He is the Son of God, and they did not believe Him; but on the third day of crucifixion , His body began to breathe as He came back to life. We serve a King that is alive! Such a powerful time that we can never forget nor take for granted. History was changed by what God did for us. This shows that what God has spoken over our lives, shall be. Prophecy  will be fulfilled. He is not man that He should lie, this is confirmed by Isaiah 55:11 that says: " so is My word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty but  will accomplish what I desire ...

We rejoice because of the resurrection power in our lives.

Image
Psalm 16:9-10 No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety.  For You will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave. When we are convinced of Romans 8:31 that God is with us, even in troubled times, the heart will still rejoice and be glad because of who He is. Nehemiah 8 that says the joy of the Lord is my strength. When you trust in Him, you have the confidence that even when you are inside the fiery furnace (Daniel 3:16-28) or the lion's  den (Daniel 6), you are certain that He is with you. He is able to rescue and restore because He is faithful . I like the part of this verse that says He will not leave my soul among the dead or let me rot in the grave. I believe  during this powerful time that we are remembering what was done for us on the cross, the fact that after three days of being buried, Jesus  resurrected,  and He is alive! Thus, let us believe  and hold of tight to that truth that ev...

His body was broken and His blood was shed for our regard...Best we don't forget that.

Image
Luke 22:19-20 He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then He broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is My body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.”  After supper He took another cup of wine and said, “This cup is the new covenant between God and His people—an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you. We are in the season that reminds us of the miraculous power of God. This verse reminds us of what Jesus has done for us. This was His last supper (as it is normally referred to), which He was sharing with His disciples, shortly before He was crucified. Jesus was revealing the true meaning of the crucifixion, the reason behing the gruesome act of His killing. That His body was broken for our regard, that through Him, we are made whole. The blood that was shed, was new covenant between God and us. What an honour and a priviledge to have Jesus do that for us! The bible tells us that He w...

God will fight for you...

Image
John 12:8 "You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have Me.” These were the words spoken by Jesus, as Judas was complaining about an act of kindness that was expressed by Mary. Mary had just taken a very expensive perfume and anointed  Jesus' feet and wiped off with her hair. She was showing her gratitude and love for who Jesus is and what He has done. However, upon seeing this, Judas angrily  said she was wasting this perfume, that could've been sold,  and money used for the poor. Of course  by now we know the kind of person Judas is, the very same person who betrayed Jesus. He wasn't considerate  of the poor but was being critical. And Jesus saw through him and that's why  He was rebuking his remarks, In this story , we can learn that God sees and like it when we show gratitude to Him, He will even go an extra mile to fight those who fight us, for loving Him. His statement shows that we should also prioritize correctly in li...

Your faith can move mountains!

Image
Matthew 21:21 Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. That is the power of faith! Jesus was making an example that when we strongly believe that the mountain can move, when spoken to it, it shall move. Faith is the evidence of something we haven't  seen but that which we are convinced it shall be. Thus, the challenges we face on our daily walk with Christ, we have the power and authority to command them to make way, and  it shall be. God says we have the Holy Spirit that lives in us (1 John 4:4), who is so powerful that He rose Jesus from the dead. It is the same power that lives within us! How amazing! Thus, with the same power that Jesus called Lazarus to wake up from the dead, we have the same power to speak to dead situations and they come alive; that we speak to the sickness and our ...

Take a stand to ensure the house of the Lord remains The House of Prayer...nothing else.

Image
Mark 11:17 He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.” Jesus said this upon reaching the temple and He saw people buying and selling. This made Him upset as people now were focus on stuff to buy and how much they are making, instead of focusing on what they are there for. We know the temple to be a place of praise and worship to God, to honour Him and show gratitude for all He has done and continues to do in our lives. It is indeed a place of prayer, to connect with Him.  This is what made our Lord upset and yes it should upset us too. Should we find ourselves in the house of the Lord and anything other than what's been alluded to above, take place and getting the attention and glory, we should take a stand and bring an end to it. God has entrusted His power and authority to us, to use it wisely and for the advancement of His kingdom, hence, should churches be used for m...

In everything you do, do it in honour of the Lord...

Image
1 Corinthians 10:23 So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. This verse reminds us that God is interested in every part of our lives and He receives honour and glory  in every circumstance. God wants to be intimately involved in our lives, in every aspect and everything we do, He wants to be present. When you think about  it, it makes sense because He is our Source of everything. He  provides for us, He protects us, He heals us, He rescues us and so much more. This means, when we have something to eat, it is indeed as a result of Him providing for us.  I've learned not to see the resource that God sends in my life to provide for me, as an ultimate source. God is the Source where He is in charge of every resource and so He chooses  the relevant  resource to come and meet my needs. For example, my employer is not my source, but a resource that God uses to bless and provide for me. This is true as if the employer i...
